Kūkla Vintage

Thrifting together since their teenage years, Meleni and Celina recognize the value of quality, timeless pieces. Through Kūkla Vintage, Meleni and Celina are dedicated to promoting sustainability and reducing overproduction and overconsumption by curating long-lasting, unique fashion that stands the test of time.

Celina Fazio

A lifelong thrifter and creative dabbler, Celina is passionate about challenging the notion that fashion can’t be both exceptional and sustainable.

Meleni David

Meleni has been passionate about fashion, film, photography, and music from a young age. With a background in interior design, she has always been drawn to thoughtful design and curation.

What barriers have you faced as a woman in your industry and how have you overcome them?

CF: We’re very lucky because there are a lot of women in the secondhand fashion space. It’s wonderful to be surrounded by creative people uplifting each other, creating shared opportunities, and making a difference in how the world approaches fashion and consumerism.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

MD: Just go for it. The best way to learn is by doing. There’s never going to be a perfect time, or a right time. The best lessons are learned by consistently trying and making mistakes. Those lessons are invaluable and are what will help you propel forward.

CF: It takes time, so have fun with it.

Why is it important to support women in your field?

MD: If one of us wins, we all win. Community is everything, and we have to remind ourselves we’re all on the same team.

CF: There are so many industries where women’s voices are not given their due. In creative industries as much as any others, it’s about leveling the playing field and empowering women to succeed.

How do you think we can create a more equitable workplace in your industry?

MD: SUPPORT. Do what you can. Support can come in many different forms, even a simple share on social media. By pouring into them, we help mitigate barriers they may be facing.

Name one woman that you look up to.

CF: It would be impossible to zero in on one woman! My sisters, my mom, my amazing friend and business partner Meleni, all inspire me to do more and be better. If I have to call someone out though, I’m going to put Emilija Davidovic on the spot. She’s such a badass woman in film, whose work ethic is unmatched and who always leads with kindness.
